UKLRC is the UK Legume Research Community, established around three years ago to connect researchers and stakeholders working on legumes across the UK. One of its core activities is the organisation of an annual conference with a strong research focus, while also involving industry to ensure wider relevance. UKLRC remains distinct from the more application-oriented Pulse-Crop Genetic Improvement Network (PCGIN), maintaining a clear scientific profile.
The UK Legume Research Community Conference 2026 (UKLRC2026) will take place from 5 to 7 May 2026 at The James Hutton Institute in Dundee, Scotland. Building on the success of the 2025 meeting at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, and industry to advance knowledge exchange and collaboration. With legumes still underutilised despite their environmental and socio-economic potential, UKLRC2026 aims to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue and foster innovation for more sustainable legume-based systems.
