Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, University of Perugia
Agricultural researcher specialising in sustainable crop production, soil fertility enhancement, and precision agronomy under climate change and abiotic stress conditions, especially drought and salinity. My research focuses on biochar applications, biostimulants, and nitrogen management to improve resilience, yield, and quality in crops such as quinoa, strawberries, tomatoes, wheat, and hybrid barley. I integrate advanced monitoring tools (SPAD and NDVI) to assess plant physiology, nutrient dynamics, and environmental interactions. Currently, at the University of Perugia, I develop innovative strategies to enhance soil health, water use efficiency, and crop adaptation to drought, salinity, and nutrient limitations while mitigating environmental impacts in Mediterranean and marginal farming systems.
