Lupina pripada rodu Lupinus iz porodice leguminoza Fabaceae. Lupine su jednogodi\u0161nje, zeljaste biljke koje rastu do 1,5 m visine, sa korenom do 2,5 m dubine.<\/p>\n

Seme lupine se odlikuje visokim sadr\u017eajem proteina (30-48 %) i sadr\u017ei relativno malo masti, vlakana i skroba. Veoma su pogodne kao hrana sa visokim sadr\u017eajem proteina u sto\u010darstvu. Sve se vi\u0161e koriste i kao zamena za proteine i masti iz mleka i mesa u specijalizovanim prehrambenim proizvodima kao \u0161to su nove vrste sladoleda i zamene za mleko na biljnoj bazi. Za farmera, lupina ima visok kapacitet fiksacije azota do 400 kg N\/ha i stoga mo\u017ee dati zna\u010dajan doprinos plodoredu. U ve\u0107ini situacija semenu lupine je potrebna inokulacija odgovaraju\u0107im sojevima rizobijuma.<\/p>\n

Postoji oko 200 vrsta lupine, od kojih su tri od posebnog zna\u010daja za ishranu ljudi i stoke: bela lupina (Lupinus albus L.), plava lupina (Lupinus angustifolius L.) i \u017euta lupina (Lupinus luteus L.). Poreklom su iz regiona Mediterana, jugoisto\u010dne Evrope i zapadne Azije. Uzgajaju se vi\u0161e od 4.000 godina.<\/p>\n

Bela lupina (Lupinus albus L.)<\/strong>
Bela lupina raste do 1,2 m visine, a koren do 2,5 m dubine. Seme je krupno, \u010dvrsto i pljosnato sa visokim sadr\u017eajem proteina (30-40 %) i sadr\u017eajem masti od 8-9 %. Pogodno je za ishranu ljudi kao i za ishranu stoke u savremenim proizvodnim sistemima.<\/p>\n

Plava lupina (Lupinus angustifolius L.)<\/strong>
Plava lupina raste do 1,5 m visine, a koren do 2,5 m dubine. Poznata je i kao uskolisna lupina. Listovi su obi\u010dno plavi, dok neki mogu biti i beli.<\/p>\n

\u017duta lupina\u00a0 (Lupinus luteus L.)<\/strong>
\u017duta lupina raste do 0,8 m visine i ima dubok koren. Njeno seme je bubre\u017eastog oblika i odlikuje se ve\u0107im sadr\u017eajem proteina (34-48 %) od plave ili bele lupine. Posebno je pogodna za ljudsku ishranu i kao hrana za stoku kao \u0161to su \u017eivina, svinje, goveda i riba.<\/p>\n

Lupin species belong to the genus Lupinus within the legume family Fabaceae. Lupin species are annual, herbaceous plants that grows up to 1.5 m high, with a tap root up to 2.5 m deep.<\/p>

Lupin seeds are characterized by a high protein content (30-48%) and are relatively low in fat, fibre and starch. They are very well suited as a high-protein feed in livestock farming. They are also increasingly used as a replacement for milk and meat-sourced protein and fat in specialised food products such as new types of ice cream and plant-based milk replacements. For the farmer, the lupin has a high nitrogen fixation capacity of up to 400 kg N \/ ha and can therefore make a valuable contribution to the crop rotation. Lupin seeds need inoculation with suitable strains of rhizobium in most situations.<\/p>

There are about 200 lupin species, three of which are of particular importance with regard to human nutrition and livestock feeding: white lupin (Lupinus albus L.), blue lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.) and yellow lupin (Lupinus luteus L.). They originate from the Mediterranean region, south-eastern Europe and western Asia. They have been cultivated for over 4,000 years.<\/p>

White lupin (Lupinus albus L.)<\/strong>
White lupin grows up to 1.2 m high and roots up to 0.7 m deep. The seeds are large, sounded and flat with a high protein content (30-40 %), a fat content of 8-9 %. They are suitable for human consumption as well as for feeding livestock in modern production systems.<\/p>

Blue lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.)<\/strong>
Blue lupin grows up to 1.5 m high and roots up to 2.5 m deep. It is also called narrow-leaved lupin. The flowers are usually blue, although some flower are white. The seeds of blue lupin have a lower protein content (up to 28 %) than the seeds of white or yellow lupin. However, blue lupin is characterized by a deeper taproot that gives the crop advantages on some sites.<\/p>

Yellow lupin (Lupinus luteus L.)<\/strong>
Yellow lupin grows up to 0.8 m high and has a deep taproot. Its seeds are kidney-shaped and are characterized by a higher protein content (34 \u2013 48 %) than those of blue or white lupin. It is particularly suitable for human consumption and as feed for livestock, such as poultry, pigs, cattle and fish.<\/p>
