locked=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>Projektbeschreibung<\/h3>\n<p>Das Projekt Legume Futures hatte zum Ziel, Wissen und Technologie f\u00fcr die Optimierung des Einsatzes von Leguminosen in europ\u00e4ischen landwirtschaftlichen Systemen zu liefern und die daf\u00fcr notwendigen Partnerschaften zu f\u00f6rdern. Das Konsortium nutzte eine Kombination aus Fallstudien, Modellierung und neuen Daten, um das Verst\u00e4ndnis von Fruchtfolgen und Anbausystemen f\u00fcr eine verbesserte Leguminosenproduktion zu erh\u00f6hen. Das Konsortium bewertete die von Leguminosen erbrachten \u00d6kosystemleistungen und die Wirtschaftlichkeit der Leguminosenproduktion in der gesamten EU. Von grundlegender Bedeutung f\u00fcr die breitere und l\u00e4ngerfristige Wirkung des Projekts war auch die Auseinandersetzung mit dem politischen Hintergrund und den diesbez\u00fcglichen Optionen.<\/p>\n<p>Unter Verwendung eines umfangreichen Netzwerks von 18 Fallstudien in 12 L\u00e4ndern bewertete das Projekt Legume Futures den aktuellen Status von Leguminosen in europ\u00e4ischen landwirtschaftlichen Systemen und evaluierte die \u00f6konomischen, \u00f6kologischen und ressourcenbezogenen Auswirkungen neuer und neuartiger Anbausysteme, in denen Leguminosen eine Komponente darstellen. Der Fallstudien-Ansatz entwickelte ein Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr den aktuellen Stand des Leguminosenanbaus in verschiedenen agroklimatischen Zonen und f\u00fcr die Auswirkungen von Leguminosen in Anbausystemen sowie f\u00fcr wahrgenommene Hindernisse bei der Produktion. Dies wurde teilweise durch Diskussionen mit einem umfangreichen Netzwerk von Forschern, Beratern, Produzenten und der Zivilgesellschaft erreicht. In einem zweiten Ansatz wurden die Erkenntnisse aus dem Netzwerk von 18 langfristigen und gut dokumentierten Versuchen zusammengef\u00fchrt. Die gesammelten Erkenntnisse aus diesen beiden Ans\u00e4tzen wurden genutzt, um biophysikalische und \u00f6konomische Modelle von Anbausystemen sowohl auf der Ebene des landwirtschaftlichen Betriebs als auch auf regionaler Ebene zu entwickeln. Unter Verwendung von f\u00fcnf kontrastierenden Regionen in Europa (Ostschottland (UK), Kalabrien (IT), Sud-Muntena (RO), V\u00e4sterg\u00f6tland (SE), und Brandenburg (DE)) wurde eine rigorose Analyse bestehender und neuer Fruchtfolgekonzepte durchgef\u00fchrt, um die wirtschaftlichen und agronomischen Auswirkungen neuer Systemkonzepte zu untersuchen. In der Mehrzahl der F\u00e4lle waren Fruchtfolgen mit Leguminosen profitabler als solche ohne Leguminosen. In Schweden und Deutschland waren die leguminosenbasierten Fruchtfolgen jedoch weniger profitabel und wurden von den Landwirten als risikoreicher angesehen als konventionelle, nicht leguminosenbasierte Fruchtfolgen. Bei den derzeitigen Sch\u00e4tzungen der Erntewerte und der Inputkosten ist es also unter vielen europ\u00e4ischen Bedingungen bereits wirtschaftlich, Leguminosen in Fruchtfolgen einzubeziehen. Die Leguminose wurde manchmal in Form einer zus\u00e4tzlichen Kultur in der Fruchtfolge und manchmal als direkter Ersatz f\u00fcr eine andere Kultur eingesetzt. Die erstellten Fruchtfolgen spiegeln die Beobachtungen aus verschiedenen Regionen \u00fcber den &#8220;Vorfrucht&#8221;- oder &#8220;Zwischenfrucht&#8221;-Effekt von Leguminosen auf den Ertrag, die N-Aufnahme, die Qualit\u00e4t und die Pflanzengesundheit der Folgekulturen wider.<\/p>\n<p>Getreide, das auf eine Leguminose folgt, kann bis zu 25 % mehr Ertrag bringen als wiederholte Male angebautes Getreide, und diese Forschung deutet darauf hin, dass dies gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils auf Prozesse zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren ist, die die N\u00e4hrstoffaufnahme und die Kontrolle von Sch\u00e4dlingen und Krankheiten beeinflussen. Das Ausma\u00df dieses Effekts variiert je nach Art, z. B. haben Kulturen mit hoher Biomasse wie die Ackerbohne im Allgemeinen einen gr\u00f6\u00dferen Effekt als Kulturen mit geringer Biomasse wie die Kichererbse. Auch der Standort beeinflusst diesen Vorfruchteffekt. Die gr\u00f6\u00dften Effekte der Einf\u00fchrung von Leguminosen werden in Gebieten mit \u00fcberwiegend getreidebasierten Fruchtfolgen gesehen, z. B. in Polen und Norditalien.<\/p>\n<p>Politische Ma\u00dfnahmen, die 2014 im Rahmen der Gemeinsamen Agrarpolitik m\u00f6glich waren, zeigten einen begrenzten Spielraum f\u00fcr die Erh\u00f6hung des Anbaus von Leguminosen im Ackerbau. Die Modellierung der Auswirkungen m\u00f6glicher europ\u00e4isch-politischer Ma\u00dfnahmen bis 2020 zeigte, dass eine &#8220;Leguminosen-Pr\u00e4mienzahlung&#8221; die beste M\u00f6glichkeit bieten w\u00fcrde, den R\u00fcckgang des Anbaus von K\u00f6rnerleguminosen aufzuhalten.<\/p>\n<p>Die Argumente f\u00fcr eine Ausweitung des Leguminosenanbaus in Europa basieren in der Regel auf vermeintlichen Vorteilen f\u00fcr die Ressourcennutzung und die Umwelt (Ersatz von Stickstoffd\u00fcnger, reduzierte Treibhausgasemissionen, verbesserte Biodiversit\u00e4t usw.). Das Projekt Legume Futures hat diese Auswirkungen direkt bewertet. Biologische Stickstofffixierung (BNF) tritt in Leguminosen als Ergebnis einer symbiotischen Beziehung zwischen der Pflanze und Mikroorganismen auf. In der Literatur gibt es eine Reihe von Sch\u00e4tzungen \u00fcber die Bedeutung der Stickstofffixierung als Beitrag zum europ\u00e4ischen Stickstoffkreislauf. Die meisten ver\u00f6ffentlichten Sch\u00e4tzungen haben einfach die Anbaufl\u00e4che mit der BNF pro Fl\u00e4cheneinheit multipliziert. Die im Rahmen des Projekts durchgef\u00fchrte Re-Analyse der vorhandenen Literatur zur zus\u00e4tzlichen Ber\u00fccksichtigung der Unterschiede bei den Ernteertr\u00e4gen in Europa ergab, dass im Jahr 2009 in der EU27 811 Gg N (0,811 Millionen Tonnen) durch landwirtschaftliche Leguminosen fixiert wurden. Die Gesamtmenge an N, die durch Futterleguminosen fixiert wurde, betrug 586 Gg, davon 414 Gg von Dauergr\u00fcnland und 172 Gg von Wechselgr\u00fcnland. Bei den K\u00f6rnerleguminosen wurde die Gesamtfixierung von 225 Gg von Erbse, Ackerbohne und Sojabohne dominiert, die f\u00fcr etwa drei Viertel des fixierten N verantwortlich waren.<\/p>\n<p>Die Lachgasverluste aus leguminosen- und nicht-Leguminosen-basierten Systemen wurden sowohl bei Futter- als auch bei K\u00f6rnerleguminosen untersucht, um eine bekannte Wissensl\u00fccke in diesem Bereich zu schlie\u00dfen. Wir haben die Lachgasemissionen an einer Reihe von Standorten, Leguminosen und Folgekulturen unter Verwendung eines vereinbarten Protokolls gemessen und uns auf die Quantifizierung des Anteils an Lachgas, der aus dem Stickstofffixierungsprozess freigesetzt wird, und die Emissionsintensit\u00e4t (die Menge an Lachgas, die pro Einheit der produzierten Ernte freigesetzt wird) konzentriert. Durch diese Forschung haben wir festgestellt, dass der Einsatz von sowohl K\u00f6rner- als auch Futterleguminosen, in landwirtschaftlichen Systemen die Lachgasemissionen und die Emissionsintensit\u00e4t deutlich reduzieren kann. Der durchschnittliche Gesamtemissionsfaktor f\u00fcr den durch Leguminosen fixierten Stickstoff betrug 0,14 % (im Vergleich zu 1 % f\u00fcr D\u00fcnger-N), was zu einem j\u00e4hrlichen N<sub>2<\/sub>O-Fluss von 0,41 kg N<sub>2<\/sub>O-N\/ha f\u00fcr Ackerbohne und 0,54 kg N<sub>2<\/sub>O-N\/ha f\u00fcr Erbsen f\u00fchrt. Dies entspricht etwa 40 bis 50 % des Standard-Hintergrundflusses von N<sub>2<\/sub>O, der vom IPCC verwendet wird, um die Mineralisierung von Pflanzenr\u00fcckst\u00e4nden und die atmosph\u00e4rische Deposition zu ber\u00fccksichtigen. Eine im Rahmen von Legume Futures durchgef\u00fchrte Analyse auf kontinentaler Ebene unter Verwendung von \u00d6kobilanzierungstechniken verglich die Treibhausgasemissionen f\u00fcr in Europa angebaute Leguminosen mit denen in anderen L\u00e4ndern. Die Gesamtauswirkung der Produktion von mehr K\u00f6rnerleguminosen in Europa beinhaltet einen kleinen Klimavorteil im Vergleich zum Import von Sojabohnen nach Europa. F\u00fcr jeden Hektar, auf dem in Europa Erbsen statt Weizen angebaut werden, werden ca. 280 kg CO2eq vermieden. \u00c4hnlich werden 175 kg CO<sub>2<\/sub>eq f\u00fcr jeden Hektar Ackerbohne vermieden, der anstelle von Weizen in Europa produziert wird.<\/p>\n<p>Um die Auswirkungen von Leguminosen auf die Biodiversit\u00e4t zu quantifizieren, wurden die Auswirkungen auf die nicht-produktive Vegetation, Regenw\u00fcrmer, bodenaktive Wirbellose und Carabidae-Gemeinschaften sowie die Fra\u00dfaktivit\u00e4t der Bodenfauna im gesamten Netzwerk untersucht. Obwohl es Unterschiede zwischen den Standorten und Kulturen gab, zeigte sich kein einheitlicher Effekt der Einbeziehung von Leguminosen in ein System auf die Biodiversit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n<p>Leguminosen haben auch viele biochemische Mechanismen entwickelt, die sie vor Pflanzenfressern sch\u00fctzen, und die Bioaktivit\u00e4t dieser Verbindungen macht sie f\u00fcr viele neuartige und Non-Food-Zwecke geeignet, einschlie\u00dflich der Bereitstellung neuartiger Viehfuttermittel, Phytoremediation. Eine \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung der neuartigen und Non-Food-Verwendungen von Leguminosen zeigte ihren Wert f\u00fcr eine Reihe von Verwendungen als neue Tierfuttermittel und Non-Food-Zwecke. In der freien Natur ist die biologische Stickstoff-Fixierung ein Merkmal von Pionier-Pflanzengemeinschaften, und dieses Merkmal wird von den Leguminosenarten bereitgestellt.
